Gill says "The Swallows Are Coming socks were inspired by my longing for summer to arrive, once the swallows appear I know the days will be warmer and longer. I took my inspiration for colours from a vintage swallow print and used hand dyed sock yarn from my sister."
They are knitted top down with a 2x2 ribbed cuff, contrast heel and toe, using colourwork charts for the main pattern and the pattern above the toe which is finished using Kitchener stitch. The sock length can be adjusted according to your required foot length and a wider sock can be achieved using larger gauge needles. The pattern is written for ladies UK size 4 - 6.
This kit contains 50g Teal, 20g Light Blue, 20g Grey, 20g Red all 4 ply 75% Superwash Merino wool 25% Nylon and a full colour printed pattern.
